I've setup IPSec, and for the testing purpose im trying to connect to it using the internet ip of the router.

If the wan connection is DOWN, I can connect to it and works fine.

If the WAN connection is UP, it won't connect. So in turn if I try connecting to it externally (wan ip), it won't connect obviously.

Any ideas?

Not necessarily, as your actual problem might be with the NAT loopback rather than IPSEC itself. You have to test it from outside your network. Last time I did here, it worked for me.

Even outside the network I can't connect to it.

It's very strange because as soon as I drop the wan connection it connects instantly. It's only when I connect to wan it stops working.

I tested the PPTP just to see, and that's working fine.
