Is Asus dropping RT-AC68 support?

The ac68 and ac86 firmware haven't been updated since July I believe. Was wondering if this is a sign that Asus is no longer updating the AC line of routers? If so that sucks due to the current source code issue and Merlin possibly shelving the custom firmware.

The RT-AC68U was last updated on October 14th.
