Issue running two HDD'S for dlna on new firmware 3.0.0.4.374.4422

Was wondering if I can run dual hdds on my ac68r. They were originally
first setup to run with and on my ac66r for dlna and worked flawlessly with no issues. But now that I switched out from the ac66r to the ac68r I tried connecting them up hoping they would sync up like on my previous router but have instead have been finicky as hell and one of the two HDD'S usually only mounts and is usable and the other is not. What's the best setup/format etc for me to run these both if this is the case? I am as of right now on firmware 3.0.0.4.374.4422 and I did a full reset on the router for the best turnout and reset all of my channels back into order and secured. Thank you so much in advanced!:D

I've been running DLNA from 2 drives for months with no real issues on the default settings. I haven't tried the 4422 firmware though, so I can't say for sure that there isn't an issue with that version. Maybe the DLNA database isn't fully compatible between the version that was on the AC66 and the one in the latest AC68 firmware. You could try deleting it so the router re-scans your media. Have you changed anything else about the drives recently?

Also, there's a setting called something like "reduce USB3 interference" in the 2.4Ghz wireless settings that also seems to make a big difference for some people in whether their drives work well in that port or not.

That didn't even dawn on me doh!

No I didn't try deleting the files for the database that the ac66r created on the hdd's yet but I am going to do that now! Is there more then one on each hdd? And if so do u by chance know the names of the files/folders? And also when mounting the drives which path do I select when I'm looking at both the hdd's via the router on I.E. , Ty for the insight and thank you in advance for my other questions! :)

If you have more than one drive, choose /tmp/mnt as Media server directory.
Default place for minidlna database is /var/cache/minidlna but on every router reboot is recreated, at least on Merlin's firmware.

Cool thanks for the info on that. It's finally working the way my ac66r use to! Thank you all 4 the help! Problem fixed :).

Make sure you understand that the samba vulnerability (port 445) hasn't been patched on Ac68/Ac56 for .4422. Asus attempted to patch it but made an error. They are going to release another update in the future to patch it.

In the meantime, you can run GRC port scan, if you don't understand what I'm talking about.....and then take the appropriate steps.
