New Around Here
Hey guys,
Had been reading this forum on recommendations for new router. Went with the RT-N66U.
Setup today, and have found i'm getting kicked off the network a bit. Maybe 6 times in the couple hours I've had it going.

It's not an internet issue, more that i completely get kicked off the network (wifi) and am left waiting while windows establishes a new connection.

I went ahead and updated firmware to 3.0.0.4.372_1393-g2f8d1c5 from asus site.
But it's still happening.
Any tips?

Thanks
Jason

Hi Jason,

This sounds to me like a crowded WLAN environment (many neighbors around) and/or problems with the WLAN setting on the clients.

Did you run the same WLAN setup before (e.g. channels, etc.)?

Maybe you can check for the least busy WLAN channel and reset the WLAN settings on your client...

With kind regards
Joe

This might sound crazy but try changing the SSID name of the connection. Solved my problem with 5ghz network dropping my connection every 5-10 minutes.... and to think I was ready to RMA my n66u.
