Asus RT-AC68U router only have PPTP/OPENVPN server. Apple removed PPTP client from IOS and OPEN VPN does not support TAP configuration in android/ios so I am wondering if I can setup a L2TP or IKEV2 vpn server on the router e.g. using Entware and how?

Did you find this thread in your search for vpn server?

edit - nevermind, the AC68U does not support IPSEC from that thread.

You don't need TAP. TUN works fine, as it will have the same routing capabilities as PPTP or IPSEC (i.e. a level 3 tunnel).

I need TAP because I want to have VPN client in the same subnet.

Edit: Changed to TUN in OpenVPN server setting and tested, although they are not in same subnet, but I am able to open router GUI and camera GUI. Thanks!

Edit2: I got ip 10.8.0.xxx on client PC once OpenVPN is connected. I am able to access the router GUI and cameras(ip 192.168.10.xxx), however I cannot access any shared folders on my Windows PC. I cannot ping all Windows PCs(ip address 192.168.10.xxx). It is strange some devices ok but not the PCs in the same intranet. Possible to fix ?
