Something odd - when I use the LAN I get no default route assigned to me from the router.
However if I enable wifi and connect via wifi, then I get a default route!

What settings should I check?
Many thanks, -turgut

Default route to what?

What is your router model? What firmware are you using?

What client device are you trying this on?

If I plug in my linux desktop to the LAN without its wifi being on, I get:
$ route -n
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
192.168.1.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 100 0 0 enp6s0
192.168.122.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 virbr0

As you will note there is no 'Destination 0.0.0.0' line.
If I enable wifi then I get:
$ route -n
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
0.0.0.0 192.168.1.60 0.0.0.0 UG 600 0 0 wlp7s0
192.168.1.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 100 0 0 enp6s0
192.168.1.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 600 0 0 wlp7s0
192.168.122.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 virbr0

This is an AC68U with Merlin
# uname -a
Linux RT-AC68U-75C8 2.6.36.4brcmarm #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Apr 5 13:44:06 EDT 2020 armv7l GNU/Linux

What modifications have you made to the router's configuration, e.g. custom scripts, etc?

I'm sorry - on another PC, running Linux again, the defaultroute works fine.. No idea what's up with that machine.. something about its routing.. So the router is working fine.. great in fact.. thank you for your help.
