New Around Here
Hello!

I have an RT-AC68P router.

We are struggling with keeping our son on task while doing his school work remotely as most students are now. His game of choice is league of legends.

I have looked up the port numbers LOL uses; but cannot find how to block them in the router's firewall. Merlin WRT was installed to no avail. We are not trying to permanently block access, just during school hours so that he can stay on task.

Where do i need to enter the port restrictions? Or do we need to upgrade to a different router?

Maybe you can block it with AiProtection > Parental Controls > Web & Apps Filters > Streaming and Entertainment > Games.

But I don't think that does time scheduling so you'd have to turn it on and off manually. :(

Firewall > Network Services Filter

So I got this figured out. When setting up the network filter in the firewall, I had to do a power cycle after saving rather than a reboot. Odd but there are a few other things I have found that require power cycle too. Will have th put that on the to do list- power cycle after changes are made.

I wonder if the power cycle has to do more with 'adjusting' the router's clients than the router settings.
