Compatible with major cable providers, such as Comcast, Time Warner, Cox and Charter, the new DOCSIS 3.0 cable modems are powered by Intel’s Puma chipset and come in three different flavors:
  • For speed tiers greater than 100 Mbps, there’s the Puma 5 powered Linksys CM3008 8x4 cable modem, which provides up to 343 Mbps download and up to 120 Mbps upload.
  • Next, for ISP speed tiers rated at 100 – 200 Mbps, there’s the Linksys CM3016. This 16x4 cable modem has download speeds up to 686 Mbps and upload speeds up to 120 Mbps.
  • The third product in the lineup, the Linksys CM3024, is a 24x8 Puma 6 powered cable modem that offers download speeds up to 960 Mbps download and upload speeds up to 240 Mbps.
The Linksys CM3008 and CM3024 are available now with MSRPs of $59.99 and $129.99, respectively. The CM3016 middle-tier cable modem is not priced yet and will be available later this summer.
