Little help required

hi all, just joined and a rookie at this.

Qualified electrician with my data licence, but need a little help on the technical side.
I have just upgraded to nbn vsdl and I used to be on asdl2, I recently purchased a new wifi tri band modem router( dlink tiapan 3200), optus my isp has sent me there own modem/router which I installed successfully, I was wondering, can I use my purchased new modem/router as just a wifi router in the centre of the house and how, any suggestions would be appreciated

Turn off wifi radios in ISP router if it has them. i assume it is providing DHCP ? Install dlink and configure as access point mode, configure wireless security (see guides ).
