Long term problems with wifi 5ghz 2

xmix

New Around Here
Hi,

I need help with problems on my aimesh setup AX11000 x 2. The 5ghz2 wifi is giving me problems. Also i see an entry in the log that makes me wonder what the problem is.
Error : Mar 2 02:53:50 kernel: CFG80211-ERROR) wl_cfg80211_change_station : WLC_SCB_AUTHORIZE sta_flags_mask not set .

I want to use the 5 ghz 2 for only ax devices ( 3 iphones and 1 laptop that supports ax ).

The problem is that when i use auto, the wifi is either very slow or does not work at all.

Assuming your routers are for the US Region...

If the 5-2 WLAN Auto control channel and/or extension channels are in the relatively new UNII-4 band of frequencies, then clients that do not support using UNII-4 will not connect and/or will not connect at full bandwidth... no connection or slower than expected connection (20MHz bandwidth).

The 5-2 band using UNII-4 is intended for fast/wide AiMesh uplink between two like AiMesh routers. If this is how you are using it for wireless uplink/backhaul, great. But if you also want to connect clients that do not support UNII-4 (many do not), then set a fixed control channel in the UNII-3 band so that those clients can connect at 80MHz or 160MHz bandwidth max. Doing this will not prevent the AiMesh wireless uplink from still using both UNII-3 and UNII-4 at 160MHz bandwidth.

In other words, fix/limit the 5-2 control channel to 149, 153, 157, or 161; or stop using the 5-2 WLAN for those clients.

You have to provide firmware version, region, settings and AiMesh wired/wireless information.

This is not needed. Mixed AC/AX clients coexist just fine on the same radio. Keep things simple.

Oke Thanks, here is additional info:
Both AX11000 are running merlin : 3004.388.8_2_rog
Region : EU / The Netherlands
ISP : 500 mbps / 40 mbps ( Provider Cable Modem in Bridge Mode and only ipv4. ipv6 can be enabled using stateless )
Routers are connected using the 2.5 gbit ports using cat 5e cable.
The 2,4 ghz band is disabled completely.
The 5 ghz1 is in N/AC/AX Mode 36/80 wpa2/wpa3 and working just fine.
The 5 ghz2 is in AX Only mode 136 wpa3 mode with mac address filtering. As far as i can tell this is 40 mhz total.
Any help with setting up is appreciated.

- the newer 388.8_4 firmware contains critical security patch and you better upgrade your routers
- mixed WPA2/WPA3 on 5GHz_1 radio doesn't make much sense for security
- 5GHz_2 radio is in DFS range and not guaranteed to work, environment dependent
- phones don't need much bandwidth and separate "AX only" radio in DFS only lowers the reliability

The security patch is about malware erasing configuration files and effectively making the routers unusable.
