I am a programmer and create applications using Microsoft Visual FoxPro. FoxPro is loaded locally on the workstation and the apps are all stored on the server. I create the apps on the server and edit them when needed. The only time these apps ever run are for testing purposes. We also run our in-house multi-user accounting system (written in FoxPro) on the server.
Normally only 1 to 2 users are on the gigabit wired network. I have 3 workstations, one Vista Ultimate, one Vista Home Premium and one XP-Pro workstation. I use no versioning software.
No one data file is more than 20MB and the total amount of space used, at this time, is less than 20gb.
Is there any reason to believe that the HP Media Vault 5140 could not be used as a file server in this environment?
Any other nas's you would suggest?
Thanks!
