Low upload could mean failing modem

I have an EQ660 DSL modem/router with a 10/768 package from CenturyLink. A few days ago, it went from syncing in the 800,000s to the 400,000s, thus my upload went from .75mb down to .4mb. I called CL to see what was up today and they verified the current sync rates. The Tech informed me that this modem has been failing in droves lately and they have been replacing them for the customers. They were going to get the new modem out to me 'immediately', but were able to get the modem to sync correctly. So instead, they are still going to send me a new modem, but it will up to 3 business days and they are covering all the costs. I'm expected to return the current modem as they are returning them to the manufacturer. Whatever, sounds good to me. All in all, a good customer support experience with their technical staff. Thought i would share.
