Media devices question

Occasional Visitor
At various times over the last year I have connected wirelessly to three separate DLNA media devices via an Arcam Solo Neo hi-fi and have now settled with using just one of these - an Assett uPNP server.

I have now got rid of the first two laptops which contained my first two Windows 7 streaming media devices, but yet their media device names are still shown on the hi-fi, even after a complete factory reset.

My question may sound really daft, but.... does the (ASUS RT-N66U) router store and continue to broadcast old DLNA media device information and if not, can anyone suggest why does my hi-fi still see old DLNA media devices, months after they were removed from the network please?

Could be your hi-fi system which keeps an internal list of media devices it has seen. Plugplayer does the same thing on my Android tablet.

I thought that too, that's why I performed a factory reset on the hi-fi, but the old media devices still show up! Thanks for the reply anyway.
