Merlin 3006 for XT12?

New Around Here
Asus stock firmware for XT12 has been 3006.x for a while now, will the XT12 Merlin release be updated for 3006 base as well?

Thank you!

Is there any update on whether the XT12 will get a @RMerlin version of 3006? Would be great if there was or if there was a timeline. Thanks.

Thanks. Yes, I've read that, but I think my enquiry was still valid as it's 3 months since the last time it was asked.

@RMerlin has since released 3006 based firmware for other Pro models (like the BE98 Pro previously asked about and linked to), hence why I'm curious if the XT12 pro will see an update soon. The XT12 has been out longer than the 98 Pro and is on 3006 via Asus stock firmware.

I realise these things take time and I'm not trying to be impatient, just trying to get an understanding it is scheduled to happen.

There is a reason why that was a sticky post. People repeatedly keep asking the same question as you do. Many are waiting with fingers crossed that maybe we'll see Asus-Merlin 3006 firmware for other Asus stock 3006 routers. Until Rmerlin makes an official announcement we'll have to continue waiting. In the mean time if you do a forum search you'll see several recent replies by RMerlin on the subject, for example from this past January...

I haven't asked them because when we discussed a general roadmap last year, the plan was wait before moving existing devices to 3006 as the code was not mature enough yet. Hence the reason why I haven't asked for it yet, not because I didn't want to.

Unsure at this time, as we have been recently discussing starting to migrate some models to 3006, but no definitve model list has been decided yet. If a specific Pro model doesn't get moved immediately to 3006 then yes, they will still provide me with 3004 GPL code for it, regardless of whether on their end they have already migrated it to 3006.

With the Lunar New Year holiday coming, I don't expect everything to be ready for a couple of weeks.

Which is always the case, I get the GPL code directly from them. Hence, whatever posted on their own website is irrelevant to my situation.

Yes, thanks for that. I did use the search function but didn't come across that particular comment, but perhaps I was looking too specifically for XT12. I was just curious as some of the BE routers seem to have had a Merlin 3006 update. No issue, I've sent Merlin a PM to which he's replied.

The reasons have been explained elsewhere:
Just to reiterate: don't ask for any ETA on availability, or for support for other models. 3006.102.1 will only support these three models, and we will re-evaluate things after that realease is finalized on any other potential device to support. These must be picked in collaboration with Asus as GPL code and device samples (in the case of new devices) are necessary for each individual model.
(Beta) Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.1 Beta is now available for WIfi 7 devices
Do not ask about support for other models. 3006.102.1 will only support these two models (plus the GT-BE98 by Gnuton), and we will re-evaluate things after that realease is finalized on any other potential device to support. These must be picked in collaboration with Asus as GPL code and device samples (in the case of new devices) are necessary for each individual model.
