Tim,
I know you do some testing on media players but this one is really such a deal. Right now online this cost only $40 bucks plus shipping. It comes with everything you need connect it to your TV or HDTV (using component video not included only standard AV cables not batteries either save the environment). When I mean everything they even throw in a Philips head screw driver so you can open the case to put in your IDE (Ultra-133, PATA) or SATA/300 up to 750GB max HDD which it doesn't come with.
So since this unit doesn't have HDMI, nor LAN or Wireless it just pretty much a standalone Media Player that uses internal HDD to playback, all video formats, photos, music and access the files on the internal HDD.
I don't know if you could connect the USB 2.0 to the PC and also be able to tap into the network folders over USB from the Midte. There is video on this on youtube for this device.

Anyway those who would be interested in such a device can check out more on the Midte site. You can archive all your DVD collection to this device then take it on the road with you. Device also has S-Video connections.

Maybe Tim can do a review on this device and see if it's really worth the $40 bucks plus shipping for it?
