Migrate in a new main router into existing AiMesh

Occasional Visitor
Currently I have a small AiMesh consisting of a RT-AC5300 as main router, a RT-AC88U and some RT-AC68U nodes.

I want to replace the RT-AC5300 with a GT-AX11000.

Can factory-reset the GT-AX11000 and add that as a node and migrate things like DHCP table (and other settings) to the GT-AX11000, disconnect the RT-AC5300 and enable the GT-AX11000 as the new main router of the AiMesh?

One other thing, as I understand it the GT-AX11000 has WPA3, what happens if that is enabled (or can it be enabled?) since the other nodes doesn't support WPA3?

TIA!

You will have to remove all of the nodes which will factory reset them. Then configure the new router manually and add the nodes one at a time. Sorry, but there is no easy way.
As for the WPA3, with your old nodes just stay with WPA2-Personal.
You should also know that using those older routers as AiMesh nodes will limit the bandwidth and channels of the GT-AX11000 5 GHz. You would be better off using those old ones as access points.

There is no Router migration method in AiMesh. You have to configure the the new Router manually and then rebuild your AiMesh by resetting all the Nodes to factory defaults and re-adding them to the new Router as Nodes. Everything done again like your current AiMesh never existed.

Thank you guys for your responses! :)I know what I need to do now! ;)

Obviously some sort of migration function would be nice to have much like when you migrate from an older to a newer phone.

There is, but not recommended to use. Asus is not Google or Apple in development resources and software quality.
