Hi everyone,

I have been trying to find clear information on the professional settings for Multicast and the Modulation Scheme option, and have been unsuccessful. Would someone be able to help me understand what those two settings do and recommend an optimized setting.

Thank you,

J

In a nutshell, certain traffic like streaming video can be very heavy on a network when they are unicast. 1o users watching the same video unicast can chew up bandwidth pretty fast. Multicast allows the video to be sent out as a single stream that other devices then can listen in instead of each having their own stream.

IGMP Snooping allows the router to listen in and look for multicast traffic.
