I'm a NAS software engineer with Western Digital.

If you are using MioNet on the LAN I suggest to directly map to the unit. Unless you have changed the device name you can access your shares directly on the LAN by mapping a drive to \\mybookworld\<share-name>, such as \\mybookworld\Public.

We generally try to help with every customer problem. Have you contacted customer service at "support.wdc.com"?

We have been having trouble with some recently purchased 1NCs, especially in Europe. What general area are you located? (North America, Europe, ...)
