N56U VS N66U Fixed Lan?

I don't use wireless so would the N56U be better than the N66U for throughput and simultaneous connections as a standard router when wireless is disabled?

Thanks

The RT-N66U has more RAM, more flash space (for custom firmwares or jffs), and probably a slightly faster CPU as well. Personally I'd prefer the RT-N66U if money is not an issue.

Otherwise, the RT-N56U is still a very capable router, so if you want to save a bit on pricing, it would still be a good choice.

Thanks RMerlin

The reason i thought the N56U would be better as a standard router is that Tim tests scored it higher.

Total Simultaneous Throughput
N56U 1,268.6 Mbps
N66U 810.1 Mbps

LAN to WAN Throughput
N56U 862.4 Mbps
N66U 728.7 Mbps

WAN to LAN Throughput
N56U 802.4 Mbps
N66U 731.6 Mbps

It's possible that Realtek's ethernet is a bit more optimized for raw throughput I guess. My money would still be on the RT-N66U because it still has better hardware on paper, and offers more possibilities software-wise. But if raw throughput is what you're after, I guess the RT-N56U might be a better choice based on these benchmarks.
