NAS Recommendation for Home Lab

I am looking to purchase a NAS for my home lab. I want to be able to install VMWare or MS Hyper-V on a server and use the NAS for storage. I am not looking to spend a ton of cash so a one or two bay NAS would do the trick.

What are my best options?

I know that QNAP only supports VMWare on its more expensive Intel-based NAS'es. But I just read that Iomega supports it on its NAS'es that are relatively cheap. See
