NAS UI and VPN

I have an old WD MyBook LIve. I can connect to its shares via IP (and netbios name by editing the host file) over the VPN. However, when I try to connect to its UI over the VPN, I get "You don't have permission to access /UI on this server.". I can access the router UI just fine over the VPN using its IP.

Currently, my NAS resides on the subnet 192.168.50.x, netmask 255.255.255.0 My VPN resides on subnet 10.8.0.x, netmask 255.255.255.0 I'm not sure if this is the issue or not. I have "Advertise DNS to clients" set to "Yes". I thought maybe changing the VPN subnet to something like 192.168.10.x might help or static routes. Am I on the right track or is it something deeper? I know you should not have VPN subnet with anything the same as your local subnet (VPN 192.168.50.x and Local 192.168.50.x) but changing the 3rd group of numbers should be ok as long as I don't reuse the VPN subnet I choose as a local subnet later on. Will this solve my issue accessing the NAS UI?

I'm using Merlin 3006.102.5 on GT-AXE16000.

This is a restriction imposed by the NAS.

For OpenVPN you would need to use an openvpn-event script on the server side like the one below to masquerade your client's source address.
