Many of us have/own/recommend Synology or QNAP.
A two drive one (you buy the drives), may well do.
I scrutinized all, narrowed to the two above and chose Synology. Very pleased with reliability, simplicity, completeness.
Shop newegg.com for price and reviews.

Try not to stream HD on WiFi. It'll disappoint.

Thanks for the reply, i am going to look. Man the prices are way to high. I am looking for something around 100 to 200 bucks. Which one do you have?

The 2-bay NASes from those two companies are, when I shopped, these were under $200, diskless. I just looked on newegg, and such is still the case. You might find it a few percent cheaper at some Amazon referral seller but I use newegg due to their ethics.

$100 for a diskless NAS is going to give you a product that you will not like.

If you can't spend that much, use a PC with a large disk(s) and just create shares. But that is just file sharing; the beauty of the two vendors' products is the breadth of their software services. Try their on-line demos if you haven't.

Those with the "j" suffix have a bit slower CPU than the same part number without the "j". For example in 2012, I had the choice of a DS212 or DS212j; I chose the non-j, as I plan to use this for 4+ years.

The "se" products - are cost-reduced to compete for that arena. I think I'd spend a bit more.

Generally, try to buy new-only, no used/refurbs, latest model year (model number is year introduced).

And beware some Amazon sellers. Be sure to price compare at Newegg and TigerDirect.
