I just got a Dell 5424 switch up and running. It’s the first L2 switch I’ve used.
I have it setup with only one VLAN (the default). QoS is turned on; Flow Control is off.
I’m having problems with the Nest Cam working with this switch. The Nest Cam is connected wirelessly to a flat AirPort Extreme in AP mode. When the AP is plugged into the Dell switch the camera will not connect. But if I plug the AP into a dumb switch it connects very quickly.
One other odd note: the Nest Cam did work with the Dell switch for about the first two hours today (new network configuration).
I have tried:
Turning off QoS.
Increasing priority for that particular port.
Turning on Flow Control.
Setting bandwidth controls for that particular port.
It’s entirely possible I just didn’t correctly set one of the above. Or maybe there is something else to set.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
