It works - but first hand experience - keep the cable runs very short... preferable less that 20 ft.
 
First I'd try for MoCA. If you have coax anywhere near the two points. Lower risk.

Then I'd try faster IP on home wiring - read a lot, here, Newegg, etc. for user experiences. Then buy from a source that WILL accept returns without great penalty if it can't or won't work or work well. This is NOT a simple plug-and-go- you have to carefully plan what is sharing the same AC outlet that might attenuate. In the US, you have to pay attention to the two-phase wiring and if the two devices are on separate phases, and if 220V appliances are on or off when you make tests, etc. It can work, but usually with planning and accommodations.
