Net-Snmp and "extend" into snmpd.conf

GregoryGost

New Around Here
Hello all,

I managed to run net-snmp through the file replacement function in /jffs/configs

But I ran into a problem.
Command
extend test /bin/echo hello
does not work

There is no data in the snmpwalk output for the NET-SNMP-EXTENDED MIB.
Although all other data is displayed

Tell me how to properly implement Extend in the router?

Router Asus RT-AC66U (not B1)
FW: 380.70

The extend extension is not supported by 380.70.

You'll be waiting a long time.:D Merlin no longer supports the RT-AC66U. 380.70 was the final firmware version.
Oops...

Thx.
I did not know about it.
Then I will have to switch to another hardware platform)
There is no desire to install other open source software.

John's fork is a very valid alternative for the RT-AC66U. I don't remember if he supports snmp, but if he does, I'm sure he'd be open to adding the extend module to his build if asked nicely.

Apparently not many people need SNMP since the router is little used in offices.
Most often it is used at home, where such control is not needed.

The model of the router RT-AC66U is outdated.

I wrote to several people asking them to add this small extension to the build. I hope everything will work out and we will see version 380.70.X

If that doesn't work, I will have to buy Mikro**k in his place :)
