i have the rt-86u, and for some reason, netbios on my wifi card stays disabled, also if i enable it manually on the wifi card or in the register, so therefore if i am wifi connected, i cant pint on hostbames on my network
on lan cable, its no issue, also no issue on other laptops
i dont have a dns server , just a local workgroup with the rt86 as a router

but netbios is old anyways, how can you ping on dnsnames on other network devices, if netbios is disabled? isnt it possible anymore without netbios? do you really need a dns server? or how can i easyly fix my issue?

i dont want to setup entrys in my hosts file

    thnx
