Designed for on-premises storage and backup, the ReadyNAS 2304 is meant to handle the larger file sizes generated by today’s services and software. As some files are too big to back up over the cloud in a timely manner, the ReadyNAS 2304 can provide intermediary services that quickly backs up local data, and then syncs it to cloud storage services like Amazon, Google and Dropbox.
Component-wise, the ReadyNAS 2304 is powered by a dual core Intel Celeron 2.0 GHz processor and 2 GB RAM, has two GbE ports, and three USB 3.0 ports for attaching additional storage devices.
The ReadyNAS 2304 uses NETGEAR's ReadyNAS OS 6.7, which includes the following data protecting features:
- ReadyDR for disaster recovery services that send incremental backups of your data to another remote ReadyNAS device.
- BTRFS RAID protection for disk-failure protection.
- Real-time anti-virus
- Unlimited snapshots
- Bitrot protection that protects from media degradation.
- Public Cloud Sync that works with popular cloud storage services.
- ReadyCloud functionality that gives remote uses private cloud access to the ReadyNAS device.
