Netgear's turn to be hit by what seems to be a faulty Intel Atom C2000

Cisco also got hit by these faulty Atom chips that die early within a 18-36 months timeframe due to clock-related issues.

If you have any device that uses an Intel Atom C2000, I would be looking into a potential recall by the manufacturer.

faulty :O and with intel, thats horrible as they used to make really good stuff. intel atoms arent really clocked high though. It would be nice to know what the issue is in more detail.

Quite a few vendors are impacted by this errata on the C2000 series chips...

It's the LPC lines - which on some designs impacts BIOS - some vendors hang the BIOS off the SPI/I2C lines, which might not be impacted.

Most vendors have offered warranty extensions - some have offered direct replacement, but the walk-away here is that it's case dependent...
