Scenario: I have a client that is renting space which includes internet that is provided by the landlord. They are farming out DHCP addresses 192.168.1.xxx to all tenants. I need to segregate my clients PC's from the rest of the people on this floor. Currently it is free reign and open to everyone. I had my client purchase a new Linksys Wireless N400 router. I tried to set it up this evening and could not get the machines to connect to the internet.
We would like to use the wireless capabilities of the router, and also be able to connect to the open network to utilize a MultiScanner printer copier.
Any help to get this accomplished would be welcomed. The provider of the internet is not returning calls or providing any information. All I have is this:
it is a class C subnet
the gateway is 192.168.1.99
DNS is 192.168.1.99
I have set up many linksys routers both wired and wireless, but did not ever have to connect to other subnets or use static routing. I really need the wireless to work to elimanate a shared printer (which is wireless and currently attached to a workstation)
Please Help.
