For $47 you finally get a CPU that is more then capable of pushing Gigabit Ethernet to the limit, as well as all other sort of NAS activities.

I am wondering why do NAS continue to use Dual Core Atom?

I would guess it is because the Celeron is quite out there yet, and it takes awhile to put a new chip in a product, especially with a new chipset.

The Atom still beats any of the announced processors on power, 13W vs. 35W TDP.


For DIYer's this looks like great news though.
