New node and switch advice?

New Around Here
Looking for advice. Just bought the Asus GT BE-19000AI but haven’t had time to set it up yet. I currently have two Asus GT-AX6000’s hardwired as router and node. Two story house with one on each floor. Both have hardwired equipment into router and node. I also have a Qnap QSW-1105-5T 2.5g 5 port switch off the router. This switch has always acted weird with my node and refuses to connect at 2.5Gbe speeds. If I run it straight off the router then I get the full speed but the switch doesn’t like it for some reason. I also have a 2Gig internet connection that is 2.4gigs down real world speed.

I’m also out of room on my router and switch for ports and wanted to upgrade the router, switch and possibly the node.

Is going with another GT BE-19000AI complete overkill and a waste of money for a node for wifi 7? What would be a good choice for the node or AP if it’s overkill?

Also is the TP-Link TL-SX1008 a good choice for a 10Gbe switch? I know it’s unmanaged and I can’t find much info on its ability to handle vlan traffic. I’m trying to get better at securing my network and getting a new 8 port switch that should last awhile while 10Gbe may be unnecessary for my NAS etc.

Thanks for your time and Happy New Year everyone!

I haven't tested whether they allow VLAN tags through. I have two TL-SX1008 which cover all the ports in the house from a central location...

From what I can tell you won't be able to get the node Ai router to run AFC, because need to reset it in order to add it as a node. I suspect the Ai board would still be accessible but not sure/have not tested. As an AP the 2nd one could run both AFC and Aiboard. Not sure you need two AiBoards? (Shrugs shoulders).

I am interested to see if a RT-BE96U or GT-BE19000 node would allow MLO between Ai and node. My GT-BE98 Pro and BQ16 Pro do. It's quite a bit of an investment for me to try though, so don't hold off to wait for me to check....
