Title says it all... just looking for advice from the pros here... small home network, minor HTPC requirements.... topography as follows
Internet (30Mbit/s cable) <-> Draytek 2130VN router <-> New 16 Port Switch
Although thats only 7 devices, I thought I better include some future upgrade options....
The Draytek will provide VOIP...
My only real questions are
1) QOS... I want to optimise traffic so VOIP>SSH>live streaming>browsing>>P2P etc etc and are problem free... will QOS on the switch collide with QOS on the router
2) Is an unmanaged switch the way to go or does it depend on the QOS issue (do I need to manage QOS???)
Regards,
drvik
