New to Networking

New Around Here
Hi,

I have searched the forum to try and solve this situation but could not find the answer. Hope I did not overlook it somewhere.

I am new to networking so bear with me. I have Comcast internet service through a Linksys BEFCMU10 v3 MODEM. I currently use a Linksys router model WRT54GL. This combination has worked great for many years. Wanting to make the leap to "N" speeds I looked into upgrading my system and purchased a ASUS RT-N16 router.

I completed the installation of the router - latest firmware etc, but it actually runs slower than the Linksys. I do not have any hard numbers only that when watching the identical utube videos the ASUS has to stop and start where the Linksys run flawless.

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Andy

How have you noticed that it's running slower? Does the speed to the internet feel slower? Transferring files internally?

What baseline do you have to compare it to?
