No Internet access and date set to Jul 31st 2015

For no specific reason my RT-5300 started behaving weird today, even though it is connected to the internet I cannot communicate at all outside the router, after checking the system log, I found out that the date is set to July 31st 2015, for some reason is not getting the information from the NTP server. Today in the morning I did a factory reset and it worked fine for like 8 hours and now it's stuck again. I had the same issue with the Merlin 380.59 Firmware, currently I am using the latest Beta FW from Asus. I really do not know what else to do, any suggestion will be very much appreciated, thanks

Today literately the router got stuck on the July 31st 2015 date issue, not possible to use the internet, it was impossible for it to synchronize with the NTP server.

I had to replace the router with another one to be able to work on the internet, please check the attached print screens below, I tried using the latest Merlin and Asus FW, with both of them the same problem. I did Factory Reset both times before installing the other FW, same thing, did not make any difference.

Something must be corrupted in the file system, is there a way to fully reset/format the router, this doesn't make any sense, thanks

Just reflash the firmware if you suspect something like that.

Thank you, I have re-flash the FW like 10 times already, I've tried Merlin and AsusWRT, I even did a Factory Reset before flashing the FW, same thing, the router never sync with the NTP server and because it is in some kind of out of sync on the date/time, it never allowed me to browse the internet.

The clock requires Internet access to get set, as there's no battery-backed clock in the router. Your actual issue is therefore related to your Internet connection, the date is just a symptom.

Thank you, I'll try that, I just found a local NTP server in my state:
  • ntp.state.mn.us

Does it work if you bypass router. I mean connecting the PC modem.
