New Around Here
Im new to the Merlin firmware and just installed it last night on the recommendation of my VPN provider. After installing one thing I noticed is that there is no option to enable Telnet. Should it be there? From guides ive seen it should be in advanced with the SSH setting but it not there?

This is version 384.4 on an Asus ac68u router

Thanks Steve

Telnet is outdated and insecure so it was removed, time to jump on the SSH band wagon.

SSH is just as easy to use as telnet, you just need one of the free SSH clients available (like Putty or XShell).

Recent Windows 10 release even provide with an ssh client (but it has to be manually enabled, and so far it seems to be a bit broken - I could never get it to work on my system...)
