Node also on merlin firmware?

as the tittle states, when running aimesh should the node be on the same merlin firmware? or the node needs to be on stock firmware?

Multiple threads with different answers. Most folks prefer stock Asuswrt on nodes. There is no benefit of Asuswrt-Merlin on a node. Wired node is an Access Point, wireless node is a Repeater. Some say stock Asuswrt on nodes works better. Test and see what works better for you.
