Hey all.

After I upgraded to Merlins FW 384.5 on my RT-AC68U, I have gotten problems with connecting with NordVPN.

I have made the normal factory reset, that did not help.

Any Ideas?

Regards

John

TLS handshake error - double check your configuration (keys, certs, port, cipher, etc...).

I have been looking at NordVPN support pages, and they have 380.59 as the template.
Used that information and still no joy.

Did you have Nord set up on on your router prior to the firmware upgrade or is this your first go?

In addition to Xentrk's advice, in my experience, you should look up your current VPN server on the map displayed on NordVPN's app (https://nordvpn.com/download/) to see if it is still there or not. Sometimes, the server is down for a period of time and you cannot connect to it. In this case, you have to wait until the server comes back or switch to other working ones, which could result in slower VPN speed.

To @Brenneke: This is my first go
to @Quoc Huynh: Did download a new server - and it worket.
I was setting it up - and yes, that did the trick. :)

How often should I check if the servers work?

@Stardust: I am sorry for the late reply as my hands were quite full of miscellaneous stuff :)
To be honest, I do not know that since it may be out of their expectation as well and therefore, no prior notification. On my side, as I tick the box of "Blocking Internet access when VPN is down", whenever my Internet is inaccessible, I would uncheck it first in order to have my ISP network back, then having a look at the NordVPN servers map.

@Quoc Huynh : It seems to be way to go: Uncheck the VPN and looking on the actual NordVPN servers map.

Thanks to all above for helping :)

@Stardust: Yeah, it is my experience with NordVPN :)

You are welcome, Stardust. Best wishes to you :)
