When you say "Since a year" do you mean since the beginning of this year or for a full year? Has it ever worked for you?

Can you take a screen shot and post what you see here like this? Just include the [Basic Config] section else, mark out stuff like your SSID and Router Login Name.

One thing that might be the problem, to start with, you should have the [Enable local NTP server] radio button OFF unless you have deliberately and already set up your own NTP server (that's what "LOCAL" means).

Thanks for quick response.

Sorry for spanish GUI, that configs appears in my router.

There is something of a known issue in AsusWRT-Merlin where the NTP server fails to sync every other boot cycle (just did a search using [Search ... ] feature at the upper right browser window using term "NTP fails". Does NTP sync fail at every reboot or at every other?

Just a shot in the dark: can you set up a 2nd NTP server? NTP S.A. Pool Servers

server 1.cl.pool.ntp.org
server 2.south-america.pool.ntp.org
server 0.south-america.pool.ntp.org

...or even try the 2nd one I have time.nist.gov. Mine has always worked. Of course, it is USA based. Just trying a few very simple ideas.

How is your system/ISP setup? do you use just one router? In what mode do you use it? I see in your AsusWRT GUI in Green the word App. I don't recognize what that is supposed to mean. Are you using that particular router as an Access point? I've used one router/Wireless Router Mode using AsusWRT-Merlin solely for a very long time.

The "app" word in green suggest install Asus App

ISP setup as DHCP and manually DNS

and System like a Wireless router mode/AiMesh node. The idea is 68U obtain public IP from ISP. I have a repeater wifi but behind wireless network. I have the router since 7 year ago, aprox.

Another thing that I have noticed, is in visual errors of the GUI, for example in Network Map, the connection appears as disconnected even though I have connectivity to the internet. I tried to contact Asus but due to the age of the team they did not give me more support.

That is normal. When you reboot the router the date will go back to May 5 which is the default date. Later, when the router connects to the internet it will set the correct date and time.

EDIT: Looks like the router's timezone database for Chile hasn't been updated since 2011 2018. Try using these settings:

This really isn't directly addressing your problem but would you be willing to either:

1) update your firmware to the "Beta" version of the official? [Version 9.0.0.4.386.41994 Beta Version] It does provide an important security fix for DNSmasq. This version might also correct the visual errors of the GUI and maybe correct the NTP issue.

or

2) update your firmware to the AsusWRT-Merlin firmware? Merlin 386.1_2 also addresses the security fix for DNSmasq, and also might correct the visual errors of the GUI and maybe correct the NTP issue.

I have also, as well as others, have had this issue in the past of the "visual errors of the GUI" at [Internet status:/Estado de Internet:] that was corrected with installation of newer firmware.

If you decide to try either option: Save a copy of Asus firmware 3.0.0.4.386_41634,

Save a copy of your Router Configuration and the JFFS partition. (So you can restore your setting if you want)

ColinTaylor is correct. My 68U has a default date of May 4 then resets the correct date and time within a very short time.
May 4 22:05:34 kernel: tdts: tcp_conn_max = 8000
May 4 22:05:34 kernel: tdts: tcp_conn_timeout = 300 sec
Mar 15 12:46:25 roamast: ROAMING Start...
Mar 15 12:46:25 ntpd: Initial clock set
My impression was that your router time NEVER reset from the default May 5 date to the current date. The June 6 date I saw in your prior post, I interpreted as a time after 1 month and 1 day of continuous usage, before you manually rebooted back to the router's default date, May 5.

Yeah, but problem is, when router connect to internet, the date may of 2018 persists.

in previous comment, i post log in Jun 2018, but is routert update more 31 days.

I set config in time zome as you mentioned, but tiem in system is Sat, may 05 2018 yet.

May 5 07:39:10 hour monitor: ntp sync fail, will retry after 120 sec

Exactly, router uptime more 31 days. When reset the router, by on/off or electric uptime, date come back to May 2018

Well, guess what, I had vaguely remembered that my own router, the 68U, 1 1/2 years ago was failing to establish a DoT connection. The realization was that the NTP was not updating the routers clock ( the router time was 14 months old)...

Still trying to figure out/reviewing the thread as to what the solution was to get my own router to update the time:

See this post: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/pe...web-uis-general-network-map.67266/post-628932

By disabling "DNS" monitoring and just using "ping," as on the screenshot, I'm now reliably "connected" from the Network Map's perspective.

My guess is that your router sends the request on source UDP port 123 and it goes to destination port 123 at NTP server. So server attempts to send the response back to UDP 123. Most ISPs block lower ports (ports below 1020 or so) for security reasons. It's possible that either you changed the ISP or your ISP changed the firewall configuration.

This will not solve your problem BUT it will help you set up correct time each time your reboot:

UPDATE 2: While examining the network log I noticed for the first time the router date in May of 2018. I've been trying to follow the directions to update the date to the correct date and it won't budge from May of 2018.

UPDATE 3: After googling an answer I went into SSH and entered DATE 072921592019 now my router is relatively close to the actual internet time. My network logger shows:
May 4 22:20:14 acsd: selected channel spec: 0xe02a (36/80)
Jul 29 21:59:23 crond[249]: time disparity of 649414 minutes detected

In a SSH session type "date MMDDHHMMYYYY". << (Replace the capital letters with numbers, i.e. MM = 03 for March; DD = 16 for 16th day of month, etc.) This will update your router clock... at least until the next reboot when it will go back to May 05, 2018

I set that command in SSH session like this:
/tmp/home/root# date 03162021

and i see a log in router
Mar 16 20:21:10 crond[261]: time disparity of -72340 minutes detected

I can see router change date to March 16, but 2018
Fri Mar 16 20:21:04 DST 2018

Try using 200.1.19.17 instead of pool.ntp.org
Set that IP in NTP server but still show "system hour not sync with NTP server"

Router can pinging to that IP
