New Around Here
Hi,

I am looking (kinda request to big guys) for a 12V powered small board than can accept LGA 1156 or LGA 1366 cpu. I am thinking of re-using this 1-U's (white cyclades PR3000 case) for my server farm. I will use sata SSD's so the performance will be excellent.

I am thinking of poor man datacenter where you don't need a refrigerator size cooling environment(basement).

How come the manufacturer always include the audio and PS2's on these MB's. Why don't they come up with a pluggable audio (via daughterboard) or HD decoder card as an option so that we don't (must not) pay for this extra chips. Why don't they focus on SATA 2 raid 0/1, modern heatsink (no FAN) and a nice DC-DC converter. Also a dual Gig Eth and dual USB's would be fine. Video is via a PCI-E riser card (fixed or flexible) so I can re-use this cheap silicon image Dell video card.

The power of the ATOM board is not enough. (d945SEJT).

Thanks
TibLang

Simple, these boards are small, and do not have a lot of slots for add-in boards to upgrade. Manufacturers figure that users would rather use slots for other add-ins (TV tuner card, dedicated graphics card, etc) and thus tried to integrate as many features onto the mainboard as possible.
