Hello everyone,

I've been going back and forth with Merlin and the original firmware.

My issue is the following, with the original firmware I'm able to get the VPN online and use HBO Max on my tv using Surfshark as a VPN on the router. However, when switching to Merlin, the site would just not work, the same happens to other streaming platforms even on my computer. I'm not sure if this is something related to Merlin, but I'm able to get it to work fine on the original firmware.

any clues?

Given so little information, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it's a DNS problem.

You can have problems w/ streaming sites if the network interface used to access the site is NOT consistent w/ the network interface used for name resolution w/ that same site. IOW, if you access the site over the VPN, but your name resolution occurs over the WAN, or vice versa.

What are you using for the "Accept DNS configuration" option of the OpenVPN client?

I assume you're NOT using Routing Policy either.

I have changed that one to "accept DNS Config" as strict. I have used the routing policy with no luck, but then switched back to having none,
