OpenVPN bandwidth on RT-N66R? I'm only getting ~700KBytes/sec

I'm kind of disappointed with the performance of my OpenVPN set up on my RT-N66R. I have a Cogent 100Mbs line. I know someone else in my building that also has a Cogent line so I VPN'ed in from his office to test VPN bandwidth. Sadly, with SMB file transfer from a Win7 laptop to my 2012R2 server (and then vice versa) ~700KBytes/sec is all i'm getting. Is this typical?
