[solved] openVPN in double-NAT environment

Hi,

I need help in debugging my openVPN setup.

My new ASUS is set-up to run as "exposed host" behind my main cable-router.
I did enable openVPN server1 on the ASUS but I am not able to connect.

DynDns is set-up on the cable-router and is working fine.
I moved the certs from the cable-router to the ASUS
There is nothing in the ASUS logs (cable-router does not have any, I am afraid).

I wonder if I am missing something as I am in a double-NAT environent.
The setup as "exposed host" in the cable-router should forward all packets to the ASUS.
Is there something to tweak in the ASUS that I missed?

TIA,
ford

EDIT:
I found a solution for my problem.
As it turned out, the port-forwarding rule "exposed host" in my cable-router, although forwarding *all* IP packets to the ASUS was not sufficient.
I was able to extend the cable-router Firmware with an additional package to manage
the Firewall and did add another forwarding rule for openvpn (udp, port 1194) before the
main forwarding rule.
I am able to connect just fine now.
So no tweak needed for the ASUS here...works like a charm.
