I am new to the whole VPN world. I'm in the process of trying to create an OpenVPN server to route my internet through while out and about at a coffee shop, etc.
I have spent sometime looking into the different specifics of the options for the OpenVPN on an Asus router. I thought I had it all correctly set up, but then I noticed with the certifications created by the router alone a user can login. I was really hoping to also force a user to use an accepted username/password combo as well. However, no matter which options I seem to implement on the ASUS AC2200 with standard firmware (3.0.0.4.382_11272), a user can just login with a [space] for a username and then password doesn't matter.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can solve this problem? or is this not a problem that can be solved?
