Im slowing finishing up my DIY NAS build, so just wonder what OS/Software would be good for home NAS/Streaming media server?
I read the articles and it seems WHS has the fastest file transfer rate? But I am not sure that my system can handle the OS..(VIA C7 1ghz, 4gb CFC HD, 256mb ddr)..Would WHS be the best for file transfer/streaming HD content (720p/1080p)? Client PC's would most likely use a mix of windows xp/linux based htpc software over a 1gig network...
