PIA openVPN 256 bit strong not working on asus-wrt Merlin

I wanted to try the 256 bit openvpn on AC87U router. I uploaded the vpn file, copied the crt data, input the id and password and connected. it connected without errors, but nothing works, browser, mail, etc... what gives?

Do you know which port it is trying to connect to? Looks like it should be either 501 or 1197 based on the linked info below. And have you been successful using 128 bit encryption?

It is port 1197. 128 bit is working perfectly and with 256 the log shows that the initialization has finished successfully, but still nothing can connect and sometimes the tun stays on 0 bytes other times there is movement on it, but still nothing can connect.
