PoE Network Issues

I have an existing PoE Switch, trying to tie in a Node using a Netgear Smart Switch. The two switches fight the Netgear keeps resetting. I use a standard unmanaged switch node works great. This is a temp situation. But need a real fix. to get this smart switch talking to the PoE

Can you disable the POE on the interface you use to connect the other switch?
