Possible workaround for Network Map issue

I've seen several posts addressing an issue with "Network Map" and "Client Status". I also had problems with that - incomplete client list, no resolved names, "spinning Wheel" etc. I have a RT-N66U with the Merlin .32 firmware

However, after disabling "Spanning-Tree", that function now works as a Dream! The list is updated, and after a while (with "spinning Wheel"), all addresses and names are in Place, and wheel stops spinning as soon as the list is complete!

-> "LAN" -> "Switch Control", tick "Spanning-Tree Protocol" - "No", and apply (router reboots when applying the change).

EDIT: New finding - after a couple of hours, it Went back to "normal" non-functioning condition... When it did that, I altered "Spanning-tree" back to "on", and strangely it worked for a while. Something is resetted when altering "spanning-tree". I tried reboot, but that didn't help. Maybe this can help when looking for the cause.
