Pptp/openvpn on ac66u with Merlin

I have an asus rt-ac66u and flashed it with Merlin. Is there any difference with setting up pptp or,openvpn from ddwrt? Most guides provided by VPN providers are for ddwrt.

Asuswrt does not support PPTP clients, only server.

As for OpenVPN, most providers also give instructions for Tomato, which is nearly identical to what Asuswrt-Merlin uses. Beyond that it's hard to help you if you don't specify what provider you are using.
