My VPN router is able to show me in the US for everything except Google accounts. After doing some research I found that switching privacy.resistFingerprinting to true in Firefox is able to stop Google Apps from bypassing the VPN and getting the actual IP.

The trouble is that I can then not access resources on gitlab, which uses cloudflare and requires privacy.resistFingerPrinting to stay on.

I think the next step is to do this inside a virtual machine. Is there any leaner solution I should also consider?

EDIT: The virtual machine solution has worked and is my current go to
