QNAP has added four NASes powered by Annapurna Labs processors.

The TS-831X is an 8-bay desktop NAS powered by an Annapurna Labs Alpine AL-314 1.7 GHz quad-core CPU. It comes in -4G, -8G and -16G SKUs, loaded with 4, 8 and 16 GB of DDR3 RAM, respectively.

Inputs on the TS-831X-4G include 2 x 10 Gigabit SFP+ ports, 2 x Gigabit RJ45 ports, 1 x PCIe slots (to add more network ports via NIC), and 3 x USB 3.0 ports. Storage-wise, similar to the 8 GB and 16 GB versions, the TS-831x-4G can house eight hot-swappable 2.5”/3.5” SATA 6 Gbps HDDs or SSDs, is expandable to 24 drives when using QNAP’s own 8-bay drive enclosures, and supports VJBOD.

QNAP also announced a new line of SOHO targeted NAS devices, the TS-x31P series. Built with small offices in mind, the TS-x31P series includes three models; the one-bay TS-131P, two-bay TS-231P, and four-bay TS-431P.

Each model in the series uses an Annapurna Labs Alpine AL-212 dual-core 1.7 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, 2 x Gigabit Ethernet ports, and supports hot-swappable 3.5"/2.5" SATA 6Gb/s, 3Gb/s HDDs or SSDs. For those looking for surveillance features, the TS-x31 has three USB 3.0 ports and supports up to 25 IP camera channels (requires purchase of additional licenses).

Both, the TS-831X-4G and the TS-x31P series NAS products are available now.
